In early October 2011, H&WB selected 12 hectares in Nunungan's "hot" and "cold" zones as its sweet sorghum pilot-farms. Timely, as of January 20, 2012, eight hectares of sweet sorghum in the "cold" zone grow sturdy and robust. Grain harvest is in February 7. Cane harvest after 10 days. Ethanol production follows for laboratory tests and accreditation by the Energy Department. Thence, pilot-farms progress to plantations employing best practices in management, agronomy and ethanol processing. In a year, three harvest-seasons can be achieved!
